One of the habits I’m taken up while in New York is the practice of Bikram Yoga.
You know the 90-minute hot yoga that makes someone of my…hydration ability, very very drippy.
It seems like every class, which is both a physical as well as mental workout has something to offer the body and the mind.
One of the lessons I recently learned was the distinction of “finding your edge”
As you move into these various poses/stretches (which are always the same 26 by the way) you get to develop your flexibility for each one.
What’s important is not to get to the “end” of the stretch, but rather working on your own individual “edge” of how far you can take the pose.
It’s all a process and it’s constant development.
Some days I do this pose well, and other days it’s a totally different one.
In this most recent class, I was brought to tears because of the release a lot of emotions around life and business.
If you’ve been working at your business long enough you have probably had a similar experience during or after a long work day.
In Yoga, no matter where you are at in that particular pose, or sequence, if you fall out, it’s important to get back into it and keep working and stay focused.
Moving through the poses. Giving 100% effort every time.
In your work day today, tomorrow, in your practice of business, always look to find your edge and give it 100% in the process.
(Ever wonder why consultants, lawyers and doctors etc practice. It’s always new )
It’s easy to get swept up in the results.
The results will come.
Some days will be better than others.
You just need to get back into it and Give it 100%.
